Soccer Fans Denounce Zimbabwe's FIFA For Alleged Logistics Bungle

Zimbabwe soccer fans are irate at the Zimbabwe Football Association's mishandling of logistics for last week's trip to South Africa by the Young Warriors for an African Youth Championships qualifier in Johannesburg where the Amajimbos defeated them 5-1.

The Young Warriors left Zimbabwe late Thursday but their bus broke down on the way and they arrived with little time to prepare themselves for the crucial match.

The Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association is calling for stern action against ZIFA administrators. ZIFA Chairman Wellington Nyatanga declined to comment.

The incident is said to be causing divisions among ZIFA board members. ZIFA has come under fire on previous occasions for bungling travel arrangements.

Reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe asked Soccer Supporters Association Vice President Eddie “Mboma” Nyatanga for his opinion.
