Hunger Threatens Settlement of Leprosy Patients in Rural Zimbabwe

Starvation threatens a small community of leprosy patients in northeastern Zimbabwe.

Members of the Mutemwa Leprosy Settlement in Mutoko, about 35 kilometers from Harare, say they urgently need food, clothes and medical assistance. A member of the facility's staff says the Settlement is seeking donations to avert a looming disaster.

Correspondent Ben Chaleka of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe reported from Mutoko.
