Bulawayo Churches Resolve to Protect the Dispossessed

A number of churches in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, are staving official pressure to move families displaced by recent demolitions out of churches and into holding camps until enough tents and toilets have been put in place at those locations.

This position was reinforced as Zimbabwe members of the International Ecumenical Alliance declared that they are “in a unique position to help” because they can provide humanitarian assistance in places where relief organizations do not have access to the displaced. Reporter Netsai Mlilo of VOA’s Studio 7 for Zimbabwe filed a report on the stand taken by clerics in Zimbabwe's second-largest city.
