Rewriting Zimbabwe’s Constitution: Giving Voice to the Diaspora

Zimbabweans living outside their country have been substantially left out of the national dialogue on what the new constitution in the making should include. Of particular concern to the millions of Zimbabwean expatriates are the rights that will be spelled out for citizens in the diaspora. Though the constitutional revision process has encountered serious difficulties inside Zimbabwe in recent weeks, it remains important for Zimbabweans in the diaspora to express their views and lay claim to essential rights. The Zimbabwe Service of the Voice of America – Studio 7 – has organized this town hall meeting or indaba to promote the expression of diaspora views in an extension of our LiveTalk program that will be rebroadcast to Zimbabwe on Monday, October 11.
