Zimbabwean Educator, Son Killed in U.S. Car Crash

A Zimbabwean school principal was killed in a horrific car crash in the U.S., Indianapolis, on Tuesday alongside his son and niece.

Norris Ncube, originally from Midlands Province, was driving five kids to his Indianapolis Junior Academy when his vehicle was rammed into by a driver who had allegedly run a red light.

He was pronounced dead on the scene while his 12-year-old son Joshua and 5-year-old niece Malia Siziba died in hospital.

The other three kids are admitted in hospital with varying degrees of injury.

Family spokesman Muzi Ncube said the Zimbabwean community in Indiana and family were battling to cope with their sudden loss.

“Our family has been crippled and torn apart by this tragic accident,” said Ncube.

“Norris Ncube was a man of integrity, very well respected in his community. He was an educator; he loved children.”

Police were still investigating the crash.

Ncube moved to the U.S. in 1996 where he received an undergraduate degree from Indiana State University.
