The leader of a new political party, Transform Zimbabwe, was on Wednesday called in for questioning by police in Chimanimani on his party’s activities.

This is the second time that Jacob Chengedzeni Satiya Ngarivhume and some of his close associates have been summoned by police.

In April while on a recruitment drive in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland, North province, 16 party members were called in for questioning by the police.

In Wednesday’s incident, Ngarivhume, whose party was transformed from a prayer group late last year into a political party, said his hotel room was stormed by a group of security agents.

He said they included some from the military who asked him to accompany them to the local police station.

Ngarivhume said he was questioned for more than two hours. Police were not reachable for comment as their spokespersons were not answering their mobile phones.
