Placards bearing Dzamara's face were distributed Wednesday, as a way of raising public awareness about his disappearance.

Civic organizations and colleagues of activist and freelance journalist Itai Dzamara, who was allegedly abducted last week by alleged state agents, distributed placards bearing his face Wednesday, as a way of raising public awareness about his disappearance.

The family and colleagues of Dzamara, a leader of a movement called Occupy Africa Unity Square, which criticizes President Robert Mugabe’s alleged mismanagement of the economy say his whereabouts are still unknown.

Dzamara’s fellow activist Charles Nyoni told VOA Studio 7 that civic groups and political parties will march in Harare on Thursday to exert more pressure on the government to intensify the search for Dzamara.
