The Commander of Zimbabwe's Defence Forces, General Constantine Chiwenga, on Monday warned that "the military will not hesitate to step in," if the purges against former liberation war fighters continue being expelled.
According to the state-controlled media, the Zanu PF Midlands provincial coordinating committee made the claims at a meeting convened soon after Mnangagwa was expelled from the ruling party for allegedly undermining the authority of the president and disloyalty.
“Each time Mr. Mugabe wants to fire his deputy, he will accuse them of disloyalty, this he started with Vice President (Joshua) Nkomo, he said the same to (Edgar) Tekere … He (Mugabe) is a man who is obsessed with power.”
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said a weak La Nina has formed and is expected to stick around for several months. La Nina is a natural cooling of parts of the Pacific that alters weather patterns around the globe
