First Lady Grace Mugabe tells Zanu PF supporters in Rushinga that she’s not heading any faction in the party, adding her rallies are aimed at ensuring Zanu PF election promises are fulfilled. She also denied vote-buying with food and other handouts being parceled out at the rallies. The First Lady also declares Mashonaland Central a no-go area for opposition parties.

In Parliament, meanwhile, Speaker Jacob Mudenda and deputy president Emmerson Mnangagwa say ministers absconded today’s house sitting in favor of the First Lady’s rally but without seeking leave of absence and should be held accountable as individuals.

Commissioners of the Information and Media Panel of Inquiry says media practitioners and other stakeholders must push the government to ensure it implement the panel’s findings, including repealing or amending restrictive media laws.
