Scrapping of Teacher Incentives Set to Affect Students' Final Grades
Zimbabwean teachers say a large number of students are likely to fail this year following the scrapping of teacher incentives three months ago. Government blocked the incentives saying some teachers were not abusing the system for personal benefit. Some teachers were getting at least $300 for conducting extra lessons for pupils and students. Teacher Itayi Dube of Bikita tells Studio 7 the government’s move was ill-advised.
