Thousands of Zimbabweans are expected to join the rest of the world on Sunday in commemorating Mother’s Day.

Some Zimbabweans, who spoke to VOA Studio 7, said they have already bought presents for their mothers.

Innocent Nkomo of Mguzana in Tsholotsho district, Matabeleland North province, said he is planning to visit her ailing mother at her home where she is recovering from a stroke.

“She is not feeling well right now and does not take any sugary foods …. I will ask her what she wants for this special day but I already know that I will have to also buy her medication,” said Nkomo.

Zimbabweans Beulah Jamu and Petronela Mpofu based in South Africa said they have already bought goodies and special items for their mothers, who live back home. Listen to this Mothers’ Day Special.
