A Zimbabwean-born musician, Busi Mhlanga, is causing waves in the United Kingdom with her mixture of traditional and gospel music, which she performs at weddings, churches, festivals and various social gatherings.

Busi, who hails from Gwelutshena in Nkayi, says she also teaches traditional Ndebele and Zulu dances such as the gumboot, indlamu and isitshikitsha to her African and British audience.

“I sing mainly Zulu, Ndebele traditional songs as well because my mother comes from a country called Botswana, I sometimes sing Tswana songs as well as in English,” said Mhlanga.

She also performed in honor of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela in London and has been on the BBC and other television networks in the United Kingdom strutting her stuff.

She has also performed at the House of Commons and just recently at the world rugby tournament in the UK, among many other important events.
