Lawyer Jonathan Samkange, representing Information Minister Jonathan Moyo and Environment Minister Saviour Kasukuwere in a $20 million defamation lawsuit, says the messenger of court is yet to serve summons on Zanu-PF lawmaker and Mashonaland West chairman, Temba Mliswa, and the Newsday newspaper for defamation.

The two ministers filed separate lawsuits against Mliswa and the Newsday. This comes after Mliswa was quoted in the Newsday newspaper alleging that the two ministers are gay and that Moyo was an employee of the American spy agency - the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

The lawsuit comes as factional fights deepen in Zanu-PF ahead of the party’s elective congress in December.

Late last year, Justice Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa’s wife, Auxillia, and others, also filed a $50 million lawsuit against Zanu-PF member and Midlands governor Jason Moyo for alleged defamation.

Samkange said they are considering suing two more publications for the same lawsuit.
