Chicken Inn sent Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League champions, Dynamos, crashing to their first defeat of the season in style.

Dynamos supporters are trying to figure out what hit them after their team was hammered 3-0 by leaders, Chicken Inn, at Rufaro Stadium and slipped to third place in the 16-team Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table.

Two goals by Edward Chirambadare and another by Michael Katsvairo gave Chicken Inn, affectionately known as the Game Cocks, three points and extended their lead at the top to two points ahead of Triangle FC, who moved to second after their 3-1 win over Harare City at Gibbo Stadium.

This was Dynamos’ first defeat of the season and their heaviest home defeat in the past five years.

However, coach David Mandigora was wearing a brave face insisting that his team played very well but missed too many chances that could have secured them victory.

On the other hand, Chicken Inn mentor Joey Antipas says his team deserved the win and could have scored even more.

There was also a good win for financially struggling Caps United. The Green Machine travelled to Bulawayo for a showdown with Bulawayo giants, Highlanders, and came out 1-0 winners.

English coach Mark Harrison says his players are putting up a fantastic performance despite the financial circumstances in which they find themselves in.

Caps United are now in fifth position with 11 points, one behind fourth-placed How Mine.

The biggest winners of the weekend were How Mine who scored six goals past Hwahwa Prisons in a 6-0 win with Timothy January grabbing for goals.

Coach Luke Masomere thinks his team is performing well.

Turning to international sport: Chelsea have been crowned the 2014-2015 Barclays English Premiership champions for the fourth time after their 1-0 win over Crystal Palace saw them reach an unassailable 83 points against second-placed Manchester City’s 70 points. With three games remaining no team can catch up with the Blues even if they lose all their remaining matches.

In Boxing: The much-talked about fight of the century came and went and Floyd Mayweather is now the holder of the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Association and World Boxing Association titles after a unanimous point decision win over Nanny Pacquiao of the Philippines.

All the three judges had the fight in favour of the American after the fight had lasted all the 12 rounds.

Mayweather has now reached 48 fights without defeat and has hinted he needs one more fight to equal Rocky Marciano’s record of 49 undefeated bouts before retiring from the sport that has given his fame and mega bucks.

Marciano retired undefeated in the heavyweight division.
