Some Zimbabweans living outside the country have set up a fund for victims of political violence.

Chairman of the Zimbabwe Victims of Violence Fund, who is also the losing MDC T candidate for Buhera West Jaison Matewu, says the fund will include all victims of political violence in Zimbabwe regardless of their political affiliation.

Matewu says they have already set up some structures in many countries around the world including the United States of America and South Africa.

Nearly 200 people were killed in the run-up to Zimbabwe’s presidential run-off in 2008.

There are also thousands of victims of violence who died at the height of political clashes between Zanu PF and PF Zapu in the 1980s.

Matewu says his organization will also extend its assistance to those maimed during those clashes though their main focus will be the current victims of political violence.
