A tout identified as Marvellous Kandemiiri has reportedly appeared in court in connection with the recent public abuse and stripping of a woman in Harare.

According to the state-controlled and Zanu PF-leaning Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, Kandemiiri is facing charges of indecent assault.

He is accused of attempting to strip a woman recently at the Fourth Street Bus Terminus in the capital city.

His accomplices are still at large following a police appeal for the identification of the assailants, who appeared in video, which went viral on social media.

Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi is quoted by the national broadcaster as saying Kandemiri was arrested on Wednesday.

Chief Superintendent Nyathi said police are still investigating the case and more people are set to be arrested soon.

The unidentified complainant filed a report at a local police station Wednesday.
