The art installations that are inspired by Zimbabwe’s rich culture have universal themes which touch the hearts of travelers drawn from all over the world.

Twenty large sculptures crafted by Zimbabwean artists, which have been gracing America’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport since 1999, attract millions of people every year.

David Vogt, Airport Art Program Manager, says the large sculptures are part of the airport’s program to humanize the international airport’s vast scale as they provide travelers with museum quality artifacts that engage them between flights.

Vogt says the art installations that are inspired by Zimbabwe’s rich culture have universal themes which touch the hearts of travelers drawn from all over the world.

He said the sculptures also promote the works of artists in Zimbabwe.

Artist Gideon Nyanhongo, who has some sculptures at the airport, says he is happy about the exhibitions.
