The Zanu PF Politburo is expected to meet in Harare on Thursday to get feedback from Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa and Constitution Parliamentary Commitee (COPAC) co-chairman Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana on the new draft constitution.
Zanu PF spokesman Rugare Gumbo said he does not expect negative reactions at the meeting because the president and Politburo chairman Robert Mugabe, has already endorsed the draft, after finalizing it with his unity government partners, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara and Industry and Commerce Minister Welshman Ncube.
However, last year the Politburo rejected parts of the constitution that others had agreed on, which led to the creation of the cabinet committee that eventually broke the deadlock last week.
The COPAC co-chairmen Tuesday said they have finished reviewing the draft and will now present it to the full select committee Monday before sending it to parliament.
