Heads of state and government continue addressing the United Nations General Assembly, a day after President Robert Mugabe told the UN that the West should lift targeted sanctions imposed on him and his inner circle.

We will give you an in-depth analysis of President Mugabe’s speech in which he denounced gays while extending an olive branch to the West. Ironically, gay activist Chesterfield Samba was receiving a courage award for fighting for the rights of gays and lesbians in Zimbabwe.

African Union Commission chair Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma says African leaders are unhappy about lack of transformation of the United Nations Security Council being dominated by developed nations.

Hundreds of Zimbabweans who applied for special permits and were turned down in South Africa are living in fear being deported.

The United Nations has moved to improve youth participation at this year’s assembly with young people holding crucial meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
