Former Zimbabwe captain and Warriors assistant coach, Peter Ndlovu, has been acquitted of homicide charges in the resort town of Victoria Falls.

Reports say the state has found no evidence to convict the 1992 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League star of the year and former Coventry City striker, for the December 2012 accident.

His lawyers are understood to have told reporters in Victoria Falls this afternoon that the case is over and Peter is now a free man.

Peter was being accused of careless driving in an accident that claimed the life of his brother, Adam, and a female passenger. The two died when Peter’s BMWx5 veered off the road and overturned.

The three were travelling to Victoria Falls for a social soccer match involving Highlanders Football Club legends.

Ndlovu has recovered and just returned to Warriors duty and was part of the national squad coaches that were on the bench when the team narrowly lost 2-1 to Egypt in a World Cup qualifier.

The Warriors’ next international engagement is once again against Egypt in the return World Cup qualifier in June.
