The Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League on Friday officially named its new sponsor, Delta Beverages, which will provide US$2 million funding to the league over three years.
The league will be called the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Delta said it will disburse US$600,000 to the league at the start of the 2011 season next month. The PSL has had no sponsor for two years, leading to financial difficulties.
Sports commentator Michael Kariati told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye the deal will ease pressure on the PSL and spark more energetic play.
