Born in Zimbabwe, raised in the United Kingdom and now working in New York, USA, Tendai Charity Mhende, says she’s enjoying her new experience in the United States.

Mhende says she hopes that one day she will go back to Zimbabwe to share her experiences and work in her country of birth.

Growing up in a foreign country was a new experience when Mhende went to the UK with her family at the tender age of six. She went to school and graduated from university last year.

“I got a placement to work in New York for one year as a strategic communications (expert) for corporate companies,” she says.

Even though she has not been to Zimbabwe in a long time, Mhende says she has beautiful memories of the country despite the hardships that the nation is facing.

She also believes that Zimbabwe has a bright future.

“It’s a very rich place, everything was bright and shiny I remember having to buy freezits and all these other things outside of school,” she said.
