Prophet Chiza Angers Zimbabweans as Warriors Bite Dust

The Zimbabwe Warriors are out of the African Championships in South Africa after they were beaten 5-4 on penalties by Libya in a match they could have won in regulation time.

The Warriors were stretched to extra time by the lowly-rated Libyans and lost on sudden death penalties after the two sides were tied on the first 5 spot kicks.

Libya will now clash with Ghana in the final while Zimbabwe will be playing for third or fourth spot.

Zimbabwe wasted a lot of chances in the first 60 minutes of the game as they failed to convert clear scoring chances.

Soccer analyst and former Highlanders FC goalkeeper Johannes Tshuma said Zimbabwe should have wrapped the match within 90 minutes as they had good scoring opportunities compared to Libya.

“Overall, I think the boys played very well. ZIFA should make sure that they keep this squad for the future. I am confident that this is a very good squad,” said Tshuma.

Meanwhile, Zimbabweans have turned their anger on Bulawayo-based prophet Blessing Chiza, leader of the Bulawayo-headquartered Faith in God (FIG) Eagle Life Assembly, who predicted that Zimbabwe will beat Libya 3-0.

Chiza, who is said to have ‘prophesized’ the fall of Mali in the quarter-finals, told the state-controlled Chronicle newspaper that “I strongly sense in the spirit that the Warriors of Zimbabwe will beat Libya with three goals. I also see that Libya might not score any goals. I see Zimbabwe proceed to the Chan final. If the Warriors believe, all things are possible.”

He further said, “I see Rio and two others scoring spectacular goals, propelling Zimbabwe to the finals.”

Zimbabwe failed to score a single goal in regulation time and now Zimbabweans say Chiza is a fake prophet. One of the critics is former ZBC radio personality Ezra 'Tshisa' Sibanda who posted the following message on Facebook:

Today the Chronicle in its headline story "Prophet Chiza predicts big win for the warriors, he predicted a 3 nil scoreline for Zimbabwe against Libya's young development side. He brought elation and excitement to millions of Zimbabweans who thought "The Man of God" would never get it wrong. He said God has shown him in a vision Zimbabweans celebrating screaming "champions champions, warriors, warriors, carrying the flag, whistling, blowing horns and running the streets of Zimbabwe celebrating winning Chan 2014".

Chiza puts his head on the block with his false predictions. Where does he go from here and what are the members of his congregation saying now?The players he said will perform well and score goals, Kuda Mahachi, Rio Moyo and Milton Moyo performed badly today and even the last 2 missed their penalties as Zimbabwe lost 5-4 on penalty shootouts. Finally ladies and gentlemen the book of God, the bible is there for anyone to read what the scriptures are saying.

Jeremiah 23:16 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD" and again The Lord says on Mathew 7 verse 15 "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves"

I know the prophet will come back and give an excuse. He will say the team didn't believe him or they failed to take instructions! He has been giving so much pressure phoning players in the camp in South Africa and we need police to charge him for misleading the nation and harassing players!!!”

Other people are also furious about the man of God’s prophecy.
