Zimbabwe Soccer Fans Urge Corporate Support of Dynamos, Caps United in CAF Play

Dynamos has reached group stage of the CAF Champions League and Caps United has moved ahead in the CAF Confederation Cup

Zimbabwean soccer fans are elated at the success of Premier Soccer League teams Dynamos and Caps United who have both advanced to the next stages of their Confederation Of African Football tournaments.

Dynamos has reached group stage of the CAF Champions League and Caps United has moved ahead in the CAF Confederation Cup. Though Dynamos lost to Botswana's Gaborone United 1-0 on Saturday, the team had a 4-1 cushion from the first match in Harare two weeks ago, allowing it to advance on a 4-2 aggregate victory.

Caps United moved to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup by defeating Nigeria's Warri Wolves 2-0 in a second leg match at Rufaro Stadium, Harare, on Sunday. Goals scored by Leonard Tsipa and Nyasha Mushekwi sealed the deal for the Green Machine allowing it to progress to the third round of this Cup.

Soccer commentator Omega Sibanda told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that fans are now calling for a Zimbabwean corporate sponsor to step up to help both teams bring trophies home.
