Zimbabwe’s Health Ministry on Friday convened an urgent meeting with various government and United Nations agencies to find ways through which to effectively curb the spread of cholera following a new outbreak.
According to the government, eight cases of cholera have been registered so far in the country.
Head of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Department in the Health Ministry, Dr. Portia Manangazira, the meeting was designed to map out strategies to tackle the disease.
Cholera is a communicable disease that can lead to death within hours, especially in Zimbabwe, a country with serious water and sanitation issues.
