WASHINGTON DC —
Zimbabwean-raised author, Thando McLaren, will on Saturday be honoured at the 21st
Annual Children Africana Awards for her historical fictional book ,“Far From Home”, based on the country’s controversial land reform programme.
The awards will be held at the Smithsonian National Museum of Africa Art in the United States.
McLaren, whose pen name is N’aima B. Roberts, says she is honoured to receive the award. She is currently negotiating with Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Education to have her book to be selected as one of the set books for high school literature.
