American academic, Jeanne-Marie Jackson, says Zimbabweans are great debaters who can easily fit in any national or international stage on various issues.

Jackson says social media discussions generated by Zimbabweans are full of interesting views, an indication that they are capable of engaging in any debate.

“Zimbabwe actually has an extremely healthy and measured intellectual culture, a culture of arguments, anyway frankly I haven’t found comparatively to be the case even in South Africa,” she says.

The Johns Hopkins University assistant English professor, who loves sadza and goat meat, has just returned from Zimbabwe.

“Goat meat is my favourite meal to have with sadza,” says Jackson, who at one stage wanted to be a vegetarian.

On the recent killing of a famous lion, Cecil, by American Walter Palmer, Jackson says she posted a thread on her Facebook page about the big cat, which generated a lot of attention from mostly Zimbabweans.
