The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formation of Morgan Tsvangirai says it will hold two crucial meetings to deliberate and adopt the party’s constitution ahead of its elective congress in October.

In an interview, party spokesman Douglas Mwonzora said the adoption of the constitution now will allow members who want to contest at the congress to have enough time to canvas for support.

Mwonzora said the party will take action against members who will buy votes or harass others during the campaign period.

The party said it will also organize protests to force the government to fulfill its election promises, including providing jobs to millions of unemployed Zimbabweans.

Mwonzora said the MDC-T adopted this resolution, among others, at the party’s 15th anniversary celebrations at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo at the weekend.
