WASHINGTON DC —
Ending poverty has proved to be a difficult task, judging from unmet targets, by international organizations and individuals, worldwide.
But if Tanzanian-born, author and motivational speaker, Eric James Shigongo’s story is one to believe, you can overcome poverty, by simply rejecting it.
With only a Grade 7 level education at the time, Shigongo says great determination made him to beat all obstacles to succeed so as to improve the life of his parents, and now, his own family.
Shigongo has written close to 100 books and manuscripts through his Global Publisher’s Company, of which he is the chief executive officer.
Shigongo used to sleep on swampy floors as his family could not afford to buy beds or mattresses.
He credits his late father and mother for giving him the ability to dream beyond his reality. He says he feels it is now his duty to ensure that he encourages those in similar situations like his, to rise up and claim their stake in life.
