WASHINGTON DC —
The Movement for Democratic Change’s shadow cabinet on Thursday met and set up a five-member task force to help mobilise support for the thousands of families displaced by floods in Masvingo’s Tokwe-Mukorsi area and Tsholostho, Matebeleland North province.
Media and communications shadow minister in what the party calls an alternative cabinet, Kuwadzana East House of Assembly member Nelson Chamisa, said the situation in the flood-hit areas is a humanitarian crisis that needs every Zimbabwean to assist if they can.
Chamisa says the MDC cabinet also deliberated on other issues, including corruption, parastatals and parliament where Speaker Jacob Mudenda is being accused of trying to gag parliamentarians.
Chamisa says the meeting also raised concern over Energy Minister Dzikamai Mavhaire’s alleged failure to steer his ministry.
