Zimbabwe Slashes Passport Fees in Bid to Regularize Nationals' Status in S. Africa

Zimbabwe’s co-ministers of home affairs today warned Nationals living in South Africa without proper documentation to regularize their status by the end of the year or face deportation.

Despite the warnings from Harare and Pretoria, Zimbabwean civic groups in South Africa call the lower passport fees a welcome development.

Ngqabutho Dube, a spokesman in South Africa for the Movement for Democratic change formation of deputy prime minister Arthur Mutambara tells reporter Brenda Moyo that Zimbabweans there should move fast to get passports.
