The 2015 World Cup Of Women’s Soccer now seems likely to be held in Canada following Zimbabwe’s withdrawal of its bid to host the tournament, The International Federation Of Association Football or FIFA announced on Tuesday.

FIFA’s executive committee will meet this week in Zurich, Switzerland, to to vote on Canada’s bid.

Reports said Zimbabwe withdrew because it felt that its infrastructure was underdeveloped and would not meet stringent FIFA condition.

Canada plans to host the men's under-20 World Cup in 2014 as a test event if it succeeds in locking up the rights to host the women's 2015 World Cup.

Sports commentator Omega Sibanda told VOA Studio 7 Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye, that Zimbabwe made the right call as it must put its house in order to host such events.
