The High Court in Bulawayo on Wednesday issued an interdict baring four so-called MDC-T rebel candidates from using the party’s logo in their campaigns.
Four MDC-T winning candidates Reggie Moyo, Anele Ndebele, Themba Nyathi and Dingilizwe Tshuma had sought an order against their rivals who filed as independent candidates after losing in the party’s primaries.
Granting the order, the High Court directed Felix Magalela Mafa Sibanda, Prince Dube, Samuel Sandla Khumalo and Kidwell Mujuru to stop using the Tsvangirai MDC symbols.
Lawyer Kucaca Phulu, who represented the complainants, said his clients are happy with the ruling, adding they now hope the four will pull down all posters bearing Tsvangirai’s portrait or any such MDC-T symbol.
