Hearings for a single commercial radio licence in Bulawayo started Monday with two applicants fielding tough questions from the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) and members of the public.
Officials from Skyz Metro FM and Skies FM pitched their proposals and explained their programming to a circumspect panel that had the sharpest eye for finer print.
The line of questioning ranged from funding to shareholding to programming. Broadcasting legend Ezra Tshisa Sibanda represented Skies FM while theatre guru Cont Mhlanga and Qhubani Moyo appeared for Skyz FM Metro.
Another aspirant, Skyz FM, owned by publisher Trevor Ncube will present its case Wednesday.
