Zimbabwe Warriors Captain Quits as Fans Urge Coach Pasuwa to Step Down

Zimbabwe Warriors captain, Willard Katsande, has quit the national squad following a poor performance of the team in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Katsande told Super Sport that he has to give youngsters a chance to play for the national squad.

Zimbabwe lost 4-2 to Tunisia in their last Afcon Group B match after performing below expectations against Algeria and Senegal in the same tournament.

Zimbabweans, including prominent broadcaster Ezra ‘Tshisa’ Sibanda have urged coach Callisto Pasuwa to step down following the Warriors’ dismal performance in the AFCON finals.

Pasuwa told reporters after the Tunisia game that his players lost the game due to lack of concentration.
