The third United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development began Monday in Addis Abba, Ethiopia, where stakeholders are mapping out strategies for implementing the United Nations’ post-2015 development agenda.

The first sessions centered on how governments, public and private companies can assist their countries in funding new Sustainable Development Goals.

High-level political representatives, Heads of States, government officials and funders are expected to attend the three-day conference. African Union and SADC chair, President Robert Mugabe, is not attending the meeting.

Mcleo Mapfumo, youth president of the Zimbabwe United Nations Association, currently in Ethiopia, told VOA Studio 7 that the first conference sessions started on a positive note.
