A daughter of a former Zimbabwean journalist based in the United Kingdom has invented a time-saving coffee cup for busy members of the public, students, workers and business executives.

Bianca Polizzi, the daughter of former Sunday News senior reporter Joseph Polizzi who is currently at Bath University in the UK, told VOA Studio 7 her wireless mini rechargeable kettle cup may be launched as the best time-saving invention on the world market if it gets more tweets than the other two entries.

Bianca said her desire to have non-alcoholic beverages on busy days drove her to invest the cup she named Kettle Kup.

“It’s basically a cup-sized portable mini-kettle. Its wireless and its rechargeable … The base will like an electronic kettle and the lid can be removed once it is boiled and attached to the bottom.

“It’s basically to make hot beverages any time anywhere because I needed it. I am a uni(versity) student I need my coffee,” she said.

The invention, which is part of Pot Noodle’s #YOU CAN MAKEIT Competition, promotes creative works with a global touch.

Bianca said, “I am in the finals, there were hundreds of entries. On Friday we will find out who wins who’s got the most tweets.”

The winning invention will be launched in USA in January next year. So far, she is leading in the competition where she has 336 retweets compared to her nearest rival's 233.
