WASHINGTON DC —
Reports say ZImbabwe's voter registration exercise is still facing major challenges resulting in many people failing to take advantage of the program to register as voters or to check their names on the voters’ list.
A member of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formation of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai in Mashonaland West said his province is facing the same problems bedeviling the exercise countrywide.
Provincial organising secretary Wilson Makanyaire said most people are not aware of the exercise, adding those who have heard about it are being frustrated by officers from the Registrar-General’s Office.
Chief Chihota of Chihota in Marondera District, Mashonaland East, said even some traditional leaders like him have not been fully informed about the programme.
