The party says information collected will be used to create a database of the unemployed regardless of political affiliation.

The Movement for Democratic Change formation of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai says its door-to-door campaign, launched early this month, has helped the party collect information on the country’s unemployed masses, as part of its project that seeks to create one million jobs by 2018.

The party launched its door-to-door campaign in Bulawayo on Wednesday, and will wind up the program in Matabeleland North on Saturday.

MDC-T vice-resident Thokozani Khuphe and national chairman Lovemore Moyo officiated at Wednesday’s event, where party members were encouraged to register to vote in large numbers in this year’s harmonized elections.

The MDC-T’s job creation plan, which was launched last year is known as JUICE; Jobs, Upliftment, Investment, Capital and Environment, and seeks to redress the country’s unemployment levels through resuscitating the economy.

The party’s deputy organizing secretary, Abednico Bhebhe, said officials conducting the door-to-door campaign present recruitment fliers and forms, and unemployment forms to the people.

Bhebhe said information collected will be used to create a database of the unemployed regardless of political affiliation.
