Chinese President Xi Jinping began a two-day state visit to Zimbabwe this morning where he’s expected to sign multi-million dollar deals with President Robert Mugabe’s government.

Mr. Xi’s visit is received with mixed feelings from ordinary Zimbabweans with some hoping mega deals expected to be signed between China and Zimbabwe today will help revive the country’s ailing economy.

Zimbabwe joins the rest of the international community in marking World Aids Day with events at the on-going International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa focusing on infants and adolescents in line with their theme to get to zero new HIV infections.

And political parties are tomorrow expected to sign an agreement on electoral reforms in the country.
