Zimbabwean schools open for the first term with teachers threatening to engage in industrial action due to the government’s failure to pay 2015 bonuses.

Some Zimbabweans strongly back President Mugabe’s claims that the western sanctions are to blame for the country’s current socio-economic and political problems. Others blame Mr. Mugabe’s government of mismanagement.

Experts weigh in on the payment of annual bonuses of workers with indications that contractual issues largely determine such packages even when a nation and companies experience cash flow problems.
