Green Fuel general manager Graeme Smith says his company has started distribution the fuel throughout the country
Green Fuel, a company sub-contracted by the government to supply the country with ethanol- blended fuel, has assured motorists that the E-10 blend is safe to use in all vehicles and some vehicles have already been converted to be compatible with the use of the E-85 blended fuel.
Motorists have expressed skepticism on the new fuel, saying they are still opting for the old petrol which is still available as they fear the latest blend may damage their vehicles.
The government says the E-10 and E-85 fuel blends will be mandatory.
Former Energy Minister Elton Mangoma has expressed concern on the developments, saying the government did not conduct adequate studies to ensure the fuel is safe for use.
Green Fuel general manager Graeme Smith said his company has started distribution the fuel throughout the country.
