The Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries has urged the government to come up with a pro-poor 2011 budget to help create employment and economic growth.
In its recommendations for the upcoming budget expected to be presented this week, the CZI said pro-poor policies will boost the country’s manufacturing sector.
Independent economist Charles Mutasa told reporter Jonga Kandemiiri that the CZI recomendations were in line with the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions’ call for the protection of local industries from cheap imports.
