Fans Elated As Zimbabwe's Dynamos Appoint New Coach

Fans of Zimbabwe's Dynamos Football Club are voicing satisfaction with the selection of new coach Elvis Chiweshe, saying he has restored their hopes of winning another Premier Soccer League title - as acting coach in recent weeks Chiweshe won six of seven matches.

Interim Chairman Winchester Mulizani of the Harare Dynamos Soccer Supporters Association told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that he is now optimistic the PSL title is within Dynamo's reach this season.

Chiweshe took over as acting coach from David Mandigora in late April. Dynamos says Chiweshe's responsibilities will include selection of assistant coaches, identification of players, selection of the team and coaching of the first team.

Chiweshe has also been assigned responsibility for selecting assistant coaches for the senior team and all junior development teams at the club.

Dynamos is scheduled to play Lengthens this week in a match that will determine who holds the top of the Premiership log - Lengthens trails Dynamos by two points.
