Zimbabwe Government Urged To Focus On Safe Water To Fight Cholera

The World Health Organization reported Monday that the death toll from the cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe stood at 2,872 from a total number of cases of more than 53,000.

Dr. Douglas Gwatidzo, chairman of the Zimbabwe Association Of Doctors for Human Rights, told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that the government should bring additional support to efforts by aid agencies like the Red Cross to provide clean drinking water if the epidemic is to be brought under control.
