New Brazilian Coach Of Zimbabwe Soccer Team Asks Fans For Patience

The newly appointed coach of Zimbabwe's national soccer team, the Warriors, 60-year-old Brazilian Jose Claudinei Georgini, popularly known as Valinhos, is asking local soccer fans to give him time to put a team together that will make it to the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and the World Cup in South Africa, both coming up in 2010.

Valinhos issued his plea at a press conference in Harare on Wednesday after being introduced by the Zimbabwe Football Association in Harare late Tuesday.

Meanwhile Brazilian commentator Ricardo Andre said Valinhos's appointment is a step in the right direction for the Zimbabwe Warriors – but success also depends on the caliber of Zimbabwean players that he will have to assemble his team.
