With just one game left in Zimbabwe's Premier Soccer League season, only three out of 16 teams in the league appear to be safe from relegation or demotion to Division One: Dynamos, which has locked up the title, plus Highlanders and Masvingo.
All the other teams lack a mathematical margin of safety and will have to fight it out on the coming weekend, according to mathematical-minded football observers.
Sports commentator Michael Kariati told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that Mwana Africa is already marked for relegation, having accumulated just 31 points over 29 games played to date.
Black Rhinos with 35 points, Eastern Lions with 34 points and Caps FC, also with 34 points, are all considered to be deep in the "relegation zone," Kariati added.
