Heat On Zimbabwe Soccer Coach After Defeat In Nations Cup Qualifier

The Zimbabwe Warriors have been bumped out of the 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations tournament by their 2-0 defeat to Morocco in Casablanca on Saturday.

With the Warriors expected to arrive home on Tuesday, fans were livid at the team's failure to best Morocco to make it to the next stage of the tournament.

Sports commentator Michael Kariati told sports reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that some fans hold coach Charles Mhlauri responsible for the defeat and are calling for his resignation.

Zimbabwe needed a win against Morocco after a 1-1 draw in Harare in March. Some fans charge favoritism in a referee call allowing an off-side goal to Morocco.
