Coach Charles Mhlauri of the Zimbabwe Warriors, the national soccer team, has issued a roster of players who will represent the country next week in Mozambique at the Cosafa Castle Cup tournament, but it includes no foreign based players.
The tournament is not on the calendar of the International Federation of Association Football, or FIFA, making it difficult for international clubs to release players.
Sports commentator Michael Kariati tells reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that an all-local squad will at least help Mhlauri identify new talent in the run-up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
