A prominent Zimbabwean organization involved in treating HIV-AIDS and caring for those struggling with the disease has urged journalists to increase coverage of the pandemic and to make their coverage more relevant and constructive.
HIV-AIDS workers from the Harare institution called The Center said media coverage tends to focus narrowly on HIV-AIDS events, rather than the ongoing crisis and the issues facing those living with the disease and fighting it on a daily basis.
Advocacy and Gender Officer Evelyn Mashamba of The Center told reporter Ndimyake Mwakalyelye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that she hopes the workshop over the past weekend would strengthen media reporting on the pandemic.
